There was pomp and colour today, as students of St. Peters Marakwet High School, Elgeyo Marakwet hit the streets of Kapsowar after emerging the top in the sub-County.
Immediately the results went on air, screams and yells of joy rent the air in the otherwise cool environment during such times of national academic calendar.
Steve Lauryen, a teacher at the school posted on Facebook: "St. peters' Boys Marakwet emerges the top in Marakwet Sub- County and third in the County with a mean of 8.55 after Sing'ore and Metkei, thoroughly punishing arch rivals Chebara and Saints." Particularly important to them was the fact that they, after ages of under performance, beat their all time rivals at all fields, Neighboring Chebara high school who recorded a negative deviation of 0.03 to an unusual mean of 8.3.
The County was listed third countrywide with two girls school, Singore Girls' and Metkei Secondary school emerging First and second respectively.
The legendary St. Patrick's Iten, known of producing great personalities including the County Senator failed to make it to the top 4 this time round
